Queens Park Arts Centre is encouraging residents of Buckinghamshire to kick-start their creativity as the new term begins with an inspiring programme of new workshops, theatre, comedy and live music taking place this Autumn.
There’s a wide range of weekly creative, health & well-being workshops taking place morning, noon, and night that cater to all age ranges and levels of experience. Subjects include pottery, woodwork, jewellery making, life drawing, needlework, music, drama, yoga, tai chi, Bollywood dancing, and you can even learn a new language with an Introduction to Mandarin Chinese! Weekly classes are drop-in and pay-as-you-go – there’s no need to pay a huge sum upfront and commit to attending all term, so ideal for those wanting to try a new hobby.
Alongside the weekly classes there’s a special short course programme including pottery throwing, botanical printing, chain stitch embroidery, willow basketry and introduction to oil painting sessions all taught by local artists and makers.
For young creatives looking to try something new in the October Half Term, there’s workshops for children in printmaking, creative collage and crafts, and workshops for teens that include denim embroidery and embellishment, teens introduction to oil painting and a special artist-led workshop. QPACs acclaimed Limelight Theatre, is Aylesbury’s longest-running live music venue and has been putting on gigs for over 40 years. Get ready for a big weekend this Autumn with a double-header weekend of brilliant live music, as John Otway and The Dung Beatles play consecutive nights on 4 & 5 October. There’s also the popular monthly Comedy Club, Open Mic Night, an interactive Murder Mystery evening and shows from QPAC’s award-winning in-house storytelling company Unbound.
