DRESSMAKING WORKSHOPS

Are you inspired by the latest series of The Great British Sewing Bee? Or perhaps you bought or were given a sewing machine in Lockdown? You may have sewn in the past but feel a bit daunted when you look at dress making patterns?

Whatever your circumstances, you can learn to sew your own, simple stylish clothes in a new series of five-week short courses led by tutor Penny Follow.

The first course runs on Tuesday mornings from 21 September, and will show students how to make a shell top and skirt. The next course – running on Thursday nights from 4 November – is all about dressmaking, whilst a third and final course in January 2022 will give you the chance to make your own trousers.

In addition to her five-week courses, Penny will also be running some drop-in classes where students can bring in their own work-in-progress pieces or a new project idea and work with Penny to complete it. Students for both the drop-in classes and the short courses will need to bring a sewing machine with them.

For details on all of these new sewing classes, click here. Places must be booked in advance for the short courses, and we recommend pre-booking for the weekly class to secure your place.
