Our dedicated Textile Studio hosts all manner of classes including weekly workshops, one-off classes and dedicated short courses. Here are a few highlights to look forward to in the coming months:
KNIT YOUR OWN CHRISTMAS STOCKING WITH AMANDA HUTCHERSON
TWO-WEEK COURSE, 3&10 DEC
Grab this fantastic opportunity to learn to knit socks or to polish up your sock knitting skills, in a fun and imaginative workshop over two Saturday mornings at the end of November. It is suitable for all those who can already knit a little, know how to cast on knit and purl and cast off. All other techniques required for sock knitting will be taught on the day.
A choice of yarns, knitting needles, decorations for your sock and skill level will all be available in these fabulous, fun knitting sessions, as you work with your tutor to create a fun Christmas stocking to delight your family.

NEEDLE FELTING LANDSCAPES AND SEASCAPES WITH MARIE JONES
HALF-DAY COURSES: 13 JAN, 10 FEB, 10 MAR
Suitable for beginners or those wishing to brush up on needle felting techniques. You will create a 15cm X 15cm needle felted wool picture, (landscape or beach scene), with hand stitching . We will focus on how to use the tools safely and blending dyed wool fibres to achieve depth and perspective. Iron on fabric stabiliser will be used to secure the work. At the end of the session, you will take home your own unique artwork ready for framing.

TAPESTRY WEAVING WITH ARIANA ODELL
MONDAYS, 4.30PM-7PM
This class will show you the simple and basic techniques of Tapestry, and share the enjoyment of creative weaving.
You can create an interesting woven tapestry piece of fabricated wall art in a very short time, using just about anything to weave with from wool, wire and fabric to hard things like twigs or leaves.
You can experiment with different materials to make the wall art you desire for your home, learning simple aspects of colour theory to help chose the right colours for your project.
Once you have developed the basic skills, you can design your own abstract pattern in landscape or portrait.
