DECEMBER AT THE LIMELIGHT

As we approach the end of the year, we’re looking ahead to the final Limelight Theatre shows of 2022, and both of them have a festive feel!

THE WIZARD OF OZ
9-31 DECEMBER

Written & Directed by Gareth Johnson

Prepare to get swept away on a magical adventure as the Queens Park Pantomime returns with a brand-new adaptation of an all-time classic tale.

There’s trouble in Oz. Elma the Wicked Witch of the West is determined to seize control of all the magic in the land, and it’s up to Glinda the Good Witch of the North to stop her.

A magical spell brings Dorothy Gale to Glinda’s aide, but even the two of them may not be strong enough. To defeat Elma, they’re going to need help from the greatest sorcerer ever known – the mighty and powerful Wizard of Oz…

This must-see family pantomime is packed full of slapstick and songs, dances and derring-do, and features beautiful handmade scenery, costumes, and props from the artists and makers of Queens Park Arts Centre.

The show is produced by Queens Park’s in-house storytelling company Unbound, and once again features amazing dance routines choreographed and performed by SDSD.

CHRISTMAS WITH INSPECTOR MURDER
11 DECEMBER

Christmas isn’t just for kids! This special seasonal show brings Unbound Theatre’s sleuthing audio sitcom to the stage for a very special festive performance.

In Victorian London there is one man people turn to when faced with an impossible mystery. The Great Detective himself, Sherlock Holmes. And when Holmes is too busy to help, Inspector Murder takes up the mantle!

Come and revel in the fantastically funny misadventures of the second-best consulting detective agency, including the eponymous Inspector, his fellow sleuth Laura Norder, their genius inventor and bondsman Luc Vercluse, and thoroughly unhinged housekeeper Constance Urveillence.

Join the cast and crew as they perform a live reading of two episodes from the show, including the 2020 Christmas Special, which sees the agency embark on a madcap retelling of ‘A Christmas Carol’…

Suitable for ages 16+
