QPAC’S LIMELIGHT THEATRE CELEBRATES ITS 40TH ANNIVERSARY THIS OCTOBER WITH A MONTH-LONG FESTIVAL OF LIVE ENTERTAINMENT

“In this landmark year, it’s a joy to see the Limelight busier than ever this season, with a packed eclectic programme of music, theatre and comedy that really does offer something for everyone”
Dario Knight, Limelight Theatre Manager
This October, our Limelight Theatre is celebrating its historic birthday in style with a month-long festival of live entertainment! The intimate 120-seater theatre space is Aylesbury’s longest-running live music venue and has attracted numerous star names over the years, including Eddie Izzard, Jo Brand, Jack Dee, John Otway & Wild Willy Barrett, Complicité theatre company, Hotbuckle Productions, and many more!

Kick-starting the festivities with the welcome return of John Otway to the Limelight Theatre, who went to school at Queens Park before it was converted into an arts centre. John takes great pride in knowing his old classroom is now the bar! Otway returns to the Limelight Theatre with a sell-out gig on Friday 6th October, followed by another evening of brilliant live music on Saturday 7th, with rock and soul classics from nine-piece cover band The BBs.

October also sees the return of the ever-popular Comedy Club night hosted by Ryan Mold, along with “a must-see band for all Beatles fans” with The Dung Beatles, an evening of original country music from Texas born singer/songwriter “Mr” Paul Adams, and for something a little bit different, the Limelight is host to a special interactive murder mystery evening with ‘Death at the Tenth’ which also includes a fish and chip supper for audience members!

For the final weekend in the month-long anniversary festival, QPACs very own award-winning in-house theatre company Unbound take to the Limelight stage in a brand-new one act pay ‘More Fool Me’ by Dario Knight. Being just a few days before Halloween, this production might just chill your blood…
