CELEBRATING ITS 20TH YEAR, THE ARTISAN CRAFT FAIR IS A HIGHLIGHT IN THE QPAC CALENDAR AND CONTINUES TO SHINE A SPOTLIGHT ON THE FINEST HANDMADE ART AND CRAFT FROM THE VERY BEST LOCAL ARTISTS AND MAKERS.
On Saturday 11 November Queens Park Arts Centre welcomed over twenty stall holders and hundreds of visitors to its annual craft fair. Local artists and makers unveiled a wonderful selection of wares including fine art, textiles, ceramics, jewellery, woodcarving, book binding and much more!
The Artisan Craft Fair gave visitors the opportunity to meet the makers and understand more about their work and the creative process and time that goes into creating handmade art and craft.
Visitors were also treated to some fantastic live storytelling throughout the day with performances of ‘Limelight Tales’ from award-winning theatre company Unbound. These brand-new tales were written to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Queens Park Arts Centre’s Limelight Theatre.
The Craft Studio was also open for free children’s craft activities where younger visitors could take part in creating impressive Peter Pan shadow puppets made from leaves and mixed media.
As the day drew to a close, a great time was had by all and made it another memorable year for the QPAC Artisan Craft Fair. A big thanks to all our stallholders, staff and Unbound Theatre, and of course a special thanks to all our volunteers who helped throughout the day with activities and serving up delicious refreshments in the coffee bar, they day wouldn’t be able to happen without your help!
